LAUREN FIGUEROA M.A., BCBA - Director, President, Co-Founder

Lauren Figueroa is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. While at the University of Michigan, Lauren worked in laboratories researching gene therapy, spinal cord function, injury and abnormality, and Alzheimer’s disease. She earned her Master of Arts in Education from The University of West Florida with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. 

 

Lauren went on to work at Marcus Autism Center (Atlanta, GA) in an intensive in-patient and out-patient Pediatric Feeding Disorders Unit under Dr. William Sharp and Dr. David Jaquess.  During her tenure at Marcus Autism Center, Lauren was able to offer a wide range of feeding services and consultations to children and their families.

 

While working for STAR Autism in California, she consulted in the public school systems and with paraprofessionals to apply the principles of ABA to the existing pedagogical practices of the schools. Lauren created and implemented programs that offer the best possible outcome for children in the public school system in Southern California.  

 

Growing up with a twin brother with Down Syndrome lends Lauren personal insight to the challenges facing special needs children and their families. Throughout her career, she has worked with many families and siblings to implement sustainable solutions for the challenges facing them.
